I completed my Master's and Honours degrees at Dhaka University, specializing in Marketing, in the years 1997 and 1998, respectively. Following this, I pursued an Executive MBA at Eastern University with a Major in Marketing and International Business, graduating in 2007. Furthermore, in 2012, I attained a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Development and Planning from the esteemed National Academy for Planning and Development.
Throughout my career, I have continuously augmented my expertise through a diverse array of foreign and local training courses focusing on various trade-related issues. These courses encompassed topics such as WTO regulations, Foreign Trade Development, HRM strategies, Product and Market Diversification, and the intricacies of Public Procurement Regulation.
Embarking on my professional journey, I commenced as an Area Manager at Akij Group, where I served for six months. This initial phase of my career equipped me with a profound understanding of marketing fundamentals, including salesmanship and consumer behavior, which significantly enhanced my ability to thrive under pressure.
In 2001, I transitioned to the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) as an Assistant Director. EPB, being a national organization entrusted with the pivotal task of promoting Bangladesh's exports, provided me with invaluable exposure across various divisions. Presently, I hold the esteemed position of Director in the Policy and Planning Division of EPB, where I play a pivotal role in shaping trade policies and strategies. Additionally, I actively participate in workshops and training sessions as a resource person, sharing my expertise as a trade promoter.
Furthermore, I have been entrusted with the management of two significant projects at EPB, namely the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre and the National Export House.
For a span of seven years, I undertook the role of Office Secretary at the Dhaka International Trade Fair, a prestigious national event.
In terms of reading, I am deeply engrossed in trade and commerce-related literature, constantly seeking out journals, articles, and books that provide insights into global markets, economic trends, and business strategies. I find immense value in understanding the dynamics of international trade, market fluctuations, and the intricacies of commerce, as it helps me stay informed and adapt in the ever-evolving business landscape.
Additionally, I have a profound fascination with history-based books, particularly those that delve into the rich tapestry of human civilization, exploring ancient cultures, significant historical events, and the evolution of societies. By delving into the past, I gain a deeper appreciation for the forces that have shaped our world and the lessons they offer for the present and future.
When it comes to traveling, I am drawn to exciting tourist spots around the world that offer both cultural immersion and breathtaking landscapes. Whether it's exploring ancient ruins in Rome, wandering through bustling markets in Marrakech, or soaking in the natural wonders of the Grand Canyon, I thrive on experiencing the diversity and beauty of our planet firsthand.
Combining my passion for reading and traveling, I often seek out destinations that align with my interests, such as visiting historical sites that feature prominently in the books I read or exploring markets and trade hubs to gain insights into global commerce. By immersing myself in both literature and travel, I strive to broaden my horizons, deepen my understanding of the world, and cultivate a lifelong love for learning and exploration.
