• Coordinate factory assessments, oversee new factory approvals, and manage site exits for poor performance. Currently 90 factories are under my immediate remit.
• Conduct ethical ratings for suppliers and factories, implement improvement plans.

• Support Senior Responsible Sourcing Manager in developing and implementing category/country responsible sourcing plans, coach RS specialists.

Achievements:

• First Sainsbury’s ethical colleague to visit factories in Pakistan in 2016, setting a precedent for ethical standards.
• Successfully integrated 163 Argos supplier audit reports into Sainsbury’s standard procedures.
• Initiated pre-SMETA visits to enhance factory readiness for formal third-party audits.

Responsibilities:

• Ensured the integrity and accuracy of the supplier database through initial and follow-up audits.
• Facilitated improvements in areas of non-compliance, offering guidance and support for the timely delivery of objectives to suppliers, Technical, and Merchandising teams.
• Developed and maintained relationships with external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and third-party audit companies, ensuring adherence to Sainsbury’s expectations and requirements.
• Liaised with business colleagues, service providers, NGOs, etc., to stay updated on regulatory changes, standards, competitor activity, and other relevant business developments.

• Perform Social, Security and Certification Audits as delegated by the team.
