Summary

An enthusiastic, self-motivated individual, who always strives to achieve a very high standard in whatever is undertaken. Being a seafarer, my career has exposed me to various situations and challenges in a multi racial team. All challenges that I have faced in my career were overcome smoothly with good teamwork and dedication. My experience has made me a very dynamic person and helped to develop my interpersonal skills. It has taught me the value of working in a team. My desire to learn new things and grow was the reason for me joining ashore as a Marine Terminal Superintendent of an FSRU LNG terminal. From there I have worked my way up to becoming project manager for newly developing FSRU LNG terminal. I am very well versed with LNG cargo handling equipment, LNG storage facilities and LNG regasification equipment. I have worked with the LNG industry for a long time and very well versed with FSRU operations. I have dealt with various contracts and negotiated agreements which includes LNG Terminal User Agreements, Time Charter Party agreements, LNG SPA etc. I am also doing my MSc in engineering where my topic of thesis is "Ageing of Offshore assets - Issues and challenges and how to extend their lifetime."

Project Manager - DGM (FSRU)

WIth my performance in my previous role as Marine Terminal Superintendent, the company promoted me to Project Manager for Summit's new FSRU terminal that is being constructed.

My current Job scope involves, but not limited to, Supervise/ Monitor/Manage Project Works (Design, Construction, Testing & Commissioning etc.) for on time completion of off-shore LNG Terminal II and associated facilities including mooring of FSRU, sub-sea pipeline, metering station, onshore platforms etc.

A brief of my job as follows:

  • Establish Project Plans/Schedule and Milestones that underpin on time during project execution
  • Liaise and coordinate with EPC, FSRU provider, Port service provider and other contractors
  • Provide leadership and performance to the Project Technical team
  • Identified plans and resources required to meet project goals and objectives.
  • Sourced, vetted and managed vendors needed to accomplish project goals.
  • Maintained open communication by presenting regular updates on project status to customers.
  • Engage with other core members for ensuring on time completion of all related tasks
  • Manage and ensure safe systems of works
  • Provide Technical supports, assessment, evaluation etc for marine assets/vessels of the Company and its other subsidiaries as and when required or requested for
  • Timely intervene and report of issues and risks to Director/MD/, Monitor and supervise any maintenance work of FSRU, Pipeline and Mooring System
  • Support the recruitment of resources to develop technical team during project execution
  • Negotiate terminal user agreements and time charter party agreements
  • Carry out compatibility studies of LNGC which will call alongside terminal for discharging
  • Delivered presentations and briefings to senior teams and incorporated changes into project workflows
  • Drafted policy documents in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Outlined strategic plans risk avoidance and mitigation to keep projects aligned with objectives
  • Maintained highest standards of health, safety and environmental standards in compliance with industry norms

Being one of the few Steam Engineers in Bangladesh. I have been appointed by Bangladesh Marine Academy to conduct Preparatory Course on Marine Engineering Officer Class - 3 (Steamship). I have conducted training for 2 batches of students. This will help the students get their steam endorsement to serve onboard the FSRUs operating in Bangladesh. As a lecturer I performed by duties diligently by :

  • Evaluated and revised lesson plans and course content to achieve student-centered learning.
  • Used variety of learning modalities and support materials to facilitate learning process and accentuate presentations.
  • Collaborated with faculty and staff to create meaningful learning experiences.
  • Selected and designed lesson plans and curriculum to meet academic objectives.
  • Used PowerPoint and Google Classroom technology to give presentations to student classrooms.
  • Arranged syllabus, developed schedule, and determined reading list for varied courses simultaneously, giving students appropriate time to complete assignments and absorb information.
  • Built strong rapport with students through class discussions and academic advisement.
  • Conducted engaging in-class discussions to facilitate learning and encourage participation.

Marine Terminal Superintendent

During my tenure at Summit LNG Terminal (Subsidiary of Summit Power International) as terminal superintendent I performed the following duties:

  • Monitor the daily operations of the terminal which includes STS operations (Loading of cargo), Regasification process where the gas is being supplied to the national grid and manage operations of offshore support vessels
  • Learned and adapted quickly to new technology and software applications.
  • Demonstrated respect, friendliness and willingness to help wherever needed.
  • Carry out information exchange with incoming LNGC and ensure they are compatible and fit to call in the terminal
  • Have experienced Q-flex vessels calling terminal
  • Company’s sole representative onboard the Floating Storage and Regasification Unit, FSRU, acting as the local Liaison between the FSRU operating company – Excelerate Energy and our customers – PetroBangla (State owned national petroleum company)
  • Well familiar with operations of the FSRU and its machineries and the technology used onboard
  • I have a long experience of sailing onboard LNG tankers using the same technology
  • Support FSRU to deal with emergency situations and liaise with all local authorities to ensure proper support for dealing with emergency
  • Liaise with RPGCL and Petrobangla to arrange any shortfall in nomination in an amicable way ensuring terminal nominations are always met
  • Liaise with lenders to attend to their queries as and when needed
  • Prepare performance reports for RPGCL
  • Prepare annual reports for customers and plan budget for O & M of terminal
  • Monitor performance of pilots during STS operations and carry out regular discussions with them for continuous improvement
  • Monitor activity of all offshore support vessels and arrange schedule of service boats as necessary
  • Carry out regular inspection of offshore support vessels ensuring their compliance with all MARPOL, SOLAS, etc
  • Ensure all terminal inspections and audits are carried out in regular manner and terminal compliance with all international regulations and national laws
  • Supervise all terminal annual subsea maintenance campaign onboard DSV and monitor all the activity carried out with timely reporting to terminal manager
  • Support LIP (Livelihood enhancement Plan) for the locals in the neighboring area
  • Support BAP (Biodiversity Action Plan) by carrying out training for FSRU team and ensuring visiting LNGCs are also familiar with it
  • Monitor the noise and effluent discharge regularly to ensure they are in safe levels for the organisms around

Marine Engineer Officer

I started sailing as an Marine Engineer Officer from January 2011 till I setlled ashore in February 2020. During my tenure, I worked my way up all the ranks to management positions – all being on board LNG ships under the ownership of same company i.e Malaysian International Shipping Corporation (MISC).


Over my tenure I have experienced


  • STS operations at various LNG terminals
  • Drydocking where I was involved in budgeting and planning jobs for the docking
  • I had to ensure all the spares were ordered in timely fashion so that the required maintenance could be completed in drydock.
  • Operation and maintenance of cryogenic cargo handling equipment such as gas compressors, LNG vaporizers, Nitrogen systems, Inert Gas plants, LNG heaters.
  • LNG cargo operations – Loading, unloading of cargo/ Inerting, Aerating, gassing up, cooling down of cargo tanks,
  • Operations, Maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical and control systems.
  • Working with Distributed control systems and remote-control systems
  • Operation, Maintenance & troubleshooting of Marine steam high pressure boilers and marine steam turbine.
  • Operation, Maintenance & troubleshooting marine plants and accessories.


I am also well versed with 'Code of Safe Working Practices' and 'Occupational Hazards'. I have always worked with
