My major responsibilities involved spearheading the National Distribution Operations (20 Distribution Centers and 550+ Employees), Material Pricing & Management (500+ SKUs), E2E National Distribution Network & On-time Delivery Management (300+ Distribution Routes, 75+ Delivery Vans), Vendor Management (100+ enlisted Suppliers through RFP, RFI & RFQ) Customer Relationship Management (Sanofi Bangladesh Limited, Nuvista Pharma Limited & SMC Enterprise – Cumulatively Tk. 6.5 Billion/Year worth Portfolio), Order & Invoicing Management (10,000+ Sales Orders submitted nationally every day, 98% fill rate maintained ), OPEX Budget implementation and ensuring Quality KPIs and GDP (Good Distribution Practices).
Key Achievements:
- Optimized operations process at all Distribution Centers that resulted in lowering manpower requirement of appx. 100 people leading to a lean operation.
- Resolved conflicts arising out of collective bargaining from time to time.
- Prepared and implemented optimized Procurement Budget for Distribution Operations. Introduced various recycling concepts to optimize procurement needs and imposed strict inventory protocols to prevent wastage and misappropriation of inventories. Also established procurement processes and vendor enlistment guidelines as per globally accepted good procurement practices.
- Optimized logistics requirement for Distribution Operation that led to reducing the fleet size from 75 to 60 delivery vehicles apparently leading to a savings of appx. 675K/month.
- Re-designed Distribution Network that led to 10% decrease in Direct Distribution Expenses and also reduced the number of days' in-transit from 480 to 300.
- Monitored Principal's Sales Trend (Forecast vs. Achievement) and actively provided feedback on lowest trending regions.
- Reduced to and maintained National Delivery Return % from double digit to average 3% till date.
- Achieved synergy across various businesses within the group by ensuring optimized usage of available resources at disposal e.g., manpower and logistics through precise planning eventually ensuring savings and cost benefits.
