  • Oversee all activities related to deep sea fishing activities using Industrial Fishing Trawlers in the Bay of Bengal, fisheries resource management, facility maintenance and upgrades.
  • Work with staff to ensure they have the proper equipment to complete their jobs.

  • Present and provide technical advice on fisheries initiatives and opportunities to the Management.
  • Formulate corporate strategic and operational planning in consultation with the Management.
  • Looking after all activities concerning permitting, insurance, human resources management, bylaws, policies and procedures for the vessels to ensure seaworthiness.
  • Work closely with MMD/MFD and other regulatory bodies to manage the companies to achieve optimum commercial fisheries benefits and ensure cost recovery. Ensure that all permitting through regulating agencies are complying.
  • Monitor and liaise with HR and the accounts department for the timely payment of salary/bonus incentives/provisions to all vessel officers and sailors.
  • Monitoring of the budget of all vessels.
  • Performance assessment of vessel staff and apprise Management accordingly.
  • Coordination with Jamuna & Padma Official and organize bunker supply.
  • Ensuring that during cyclones and any other disaster, vessels are a safe haven.
  • Ensuring the correct and smooth completion of all the shrimp catches, stocking and exportable shrimp and white fish are processed as per the buyer’s satisfaction.
  • Daily Monitoring:
  • i) To collect and analyze day-to-day updates in relation to deep sea fishing operations; i.e. weather conditions, local marketplace, spawner program & market price of local fish.
  • Organize compliance survey of vessels by PO MMD to issue a Certificate of Inspection (COI) and Fishing License by MFD as well.

  • Daily/Monthly/Yearly production planning and making schedule for manufacturing processes that ensure optimum utilization of workforce and modern machinery to achieve the maximum utilization of plant capacity as well as expanding company’s production target each year based on mass market accounts.
  • Least-cost formulation for manufacturing different grades of feed based-on raw materials’ quality, price, availability as well as other expenditures (i.e. packing cost, overhead, etc.).
  • Monitoring and evaluating the manufacturing processes for maintaining quality standards of product through frequent checking of raw materials as well as finished products and supervising the production personnel during manufacturing process.
  • Qualitative evaluation for each batch of raw materials discussion with laboratory personnel.
  • Passing the requisition (i.e. daily/monthly/urgently) of raw materials, packing materials, etc to the procurement department based on respective items’ stock position and demand forecasting.
  • Besides the departmental responsibilities, I also worked closely with store department in inventory management and engineering department in smooth running of operation.
  • Maintaining liaison with the different stakeholders (i.e. fish farmer, hatchery owners, and feed traders) of fish feed marketing channel and management.
  • Working as a member of Research & Development (R&D) Wing for evaluating & monitoring the biological studies for each species in experimental field and making conclusion about the supplemental nutritional requirements for target species.
