I am currently serving as a Senior Specialist Obstetrics & Gynecology at Al-Azhar Medical Hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Al-Azhar Medical
Hospital is a prominent general hospital in Riyadh, offering comprehensive medical care across various specialties including trauma,neurology, cardiology, dental, gynecology, pulmonology, nephrology, and radiology. The Obstetrics and Gynecology department is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Inpatient Care: As part of my role, I conduct daily ward rounds five days a week, ensuring comprehensive care and monitoring of inpatient cases. This involves overseeing patient progress, consulting with medical teams, and making informed medical decisions.

Outpatient Clinic Management: I manage outpatient clinics five days a week, seeing an average of 30 patients per day. During these sessions, I diagnose and treat a wide range of obstetric and gynecological conditions, provide counseling, and ensure personalized care plans are established for each patient.

Supervision and Mentorship: I am responsible for supervising all Residents and Specialists within the Obstetrics and Gynecology department. This includes guiding their clinical activities, conducting regular assessments, and providing mentorship to ensure the highest standards of patient care and professional development.

Procedures Expertise:

In my current position, I am operating a fertility clinic of repute that has specialized in the treatment of patients suffering from conditions such as PCOS and endometriosis, among others. Our services include ovulation induction and intrauterine insemination (IUI), aimed at enhancing fertility outcomes for our patients.

In addition, my expertise includes performing a variety of obstetric and gynecological procedures such as normal vaginal deliveries, instrumental vaginal deliveries, caesarean sections, and management of complex obstetric conditions like placenta previa and previa I-VI.

Furthemore, I perform gynaecological procedures, including laparotomies for ectopic pregnancies, cystectomies, dilatation and curettage (DnC), hysteroscopies for endometrial sampling, polypectomies, contraceptive implant and intrauterine device insertions, cervical cerclage procedures.

I am also proficient in a range of minimal invasive surgical procedures. This includes laparoscopic surgeries that diagnose and treat reproductive health problems. My scope of practice extends to include the following: laparoscopic ovarian drilling, salpingectomy, surgical treatment of ectopic pregnancy and cystectomy for the treatment of ovarian cysts, and selected pathologies of the fallopian tubes.
In addition, I am competent in TLH (Total laparoscopic hysterectomy). I also perform laparoscopic colposuspension, and also trained in mini-sling surgery, using the mini-mesh technique for the treatment of stress incontinence.

Emergency Responsibilities: I handle emergency duties, responding to 8-10 calls per month, which involve urgent obstetric and gynecological interventions. This includes managing obstetric emergencies, performing emergency surgeries, and ensuring timely and effective care for
critically ill patients.

During my tenure at Al-Hammadi Hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, I served as a Senior Specialist Obstetrics and Gynecology. Al-Hammadi Hospital is a distinguished tertiary care facility in Riyadh, operating across three branches within the city. The Gynecology Department is well staffed
with three consultants, five senior registrars, two registrars, and eight residents. My work schedule included eight-hour shifts per day, six days a week, encompassing outpatient department duties and elective obstetrics and gynecology procedures, with Fridays off. I adhered to a one-in-six call roster to manage emergent medical needs.

Clinical Care and Consultations: In my role, I provided comprehensive clinical care and consultations in obstetrics and gynaecology. This involved diagnosing and managing a wide spectrum of gynaecological conditions, conducting thorough examinations, and formulating treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs. I maintained a strong focus on patient education and counselling, ensuring informed decision-making regarding their health and well-being.

Surgical Expertise: I performed a variety of elective obstetric and gynaecological procedures with precision and skill. Each procedure was executed with a commitment to patient safety, optimal outcomes, and adherence to best clinical practices.
Teaching and Supervision: As a Senior Specialist, I played a pivotal role in the education and training of junior medical staff. I provided supervision, mentorship, and ongoing education to residents and registrars within the department. This included overseeing their clinical activities, conducting regular evaluations, and imparting knowledge on complex obstetric and gynaecological cases.

Emergency Care and On-call Responsibilities: I participated in the hospital's on-call schedule, managing emergent obstetric and gynaecological cases as they arose. This included responding to obstetric emergencies, performing urgent surgeries, and ensuring prompt and effective care for critically ill patients. My ability to make quick, informed decisions under pressure contributed to positive patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Collaboration and Multidisciplinary Care: Collaboration was a cornerstone of my practice at Al-Hammadi Hospital. I worked closely with colleagues across various specialties to provide integrated care plans for patients with complex medical needs. This interdisciplinary approach facilitated comprehensive treatment strategies and optimized patient care pathways.

Served in Majeed Medical Complex, one of the leading private hospital in Rawalpindi, Pakistan and Covered OPD 6 hrs. a day as well as inpatient wards and operation theater on alternate days, had chance to observe and assist in major elective gynecological surgeries like Total Abdominal Hysterectomy, myomectomies, pelvic floor repair, vaginoplasties etc.

Benazir Bhutto Hospital is a medical facility in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, During this structured 4-year training program,I had chance to rotate through different clinical areas within Obstetrics and Gynecology, gaining hands-on experience in managing a variety of cases, including prenatal care, labor and delivery, gynecological surgeries, family planning, neonatal resuscitation and ultrasound. Have participated in teaching, research and audits conducted in unit.

During my residency, I was part of the formal supervision, bedside teaching, problem-based learning and emergency surgical management classes of Undergraduate 3rd year MBBS students and final year medical students for 3 years.

Facilitator of Basic Surgical Skills Workshops for undergraduate medical students & House Officers.

Supervised numerous surgical procedures to medical students, House officers, junior postgraduate trainees, midwives and nursing staff.

Two-month observership in BBH under Prof. Dr. Shagufta Saeed Sial.

Six-month experience as medical officer at 'Nisar Hospital' Peshawar Road Rawalpindi.
